He is Lord of all, whether we like it or not, or whether we believe it or not. I think the first thing that needs to happen in order to know how to yield to God is to gain an understanding that God is God. This means it is the revelation of His character and of His will for every person. When I read it I read his thoughts. God wants you to yield, or present, your bodies to Him.
