During the time that the Irish played at the Joyce Center, the facility was the second smallest home rink in the CCHA with a hockey capacity of 2,857. The Joyce Center is a unique two-domed athletics and events structure. When the Irish hockey program moved to the brand new Compton Family Ice Arena in the fall of 2011, their previous Joyce Center rink was vacated and plans began for repurposing the space. It is home to the University of Notre Dame Fighting Irish basketball and volleyball teams.
The Compton Family Ice Arena is a 5,022-seat, two-rink ice facility in Notre Dame, Indiana on the campus of the University of Notre Dame.The arena saw its first game on October 21, 2011.
