British Bulldog Likely .450 Adams Caliber. Probably .38 S&W caliber. This is an old British Bulldog. Has chip in right grip at the alignment pin. I inherited from my grandpa.

See pages 232 - 235 Probably made by (or for) David Bentley before the Tower trademark was acquired by Webley. All parts kits sold on this site do not include a receiver. THe gun has some rust but probable 90% of finish is left.
Aug 8, 2017 - 1868 to 1917 Tranter, Webley, Holland & Holland, Hollis & Sons, Lincoln Jeffries, Forehand & Wadsworth, Purdey, Belgian clones ... anything possibly carried by Dr Watson or even Holmes himself. Cylinder pin is missing. Most of British and Commenwealth officers used these as a primary sidearm during WW2.
Other than the British Bulldog markings on top & bulldog trade mark on side I don't see any identifying markings.
